To ensure our high standards, all certifiers must meet strict requirements. We regularly screen the market for new certifiers and are constantly expanding our partnerships.

Cotton made in Africa

“Cotton made in Africa” is an internationally recognized standard for sustainable cotton from Africa. As part of an independent verification, the cultivation and ginning of the cotton is checked with regard to ecological, social and economic criteria. 

Leather Working Group

The “Leather Working Group”  is a multi-stakeholder initiative made up of various stakeholders within the leather processing industry. The group has developed an audit program that certifies leather manufacturing operations based on environmental compliance and performance.

Global Organic Textile Standard

The “Global Organic Textile Standard” is a globally recognized standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. For certification, the entire production chain is checked with regard to environmental and social requirements.

Responsible Wool Standard

The “Responsible Wool Standard” is one of the leading standards for animal welfare related to wool products and guarantees responsible sheep farming. The focus of this seal is on animal welfare, sustainable management and protection of the soil and full transparency in the supply chain with an integrated traceability system.

Bluedesign

“Bluesign” ensures that items are manufactured in a clean process that monitors over 900 chemicals hazardous to health. Bluesign ensures that manufacturers and brands deal responsibly and sustainably with people, the environment and the world’s resources.

Organic Content Standard
The “Organic Content Standard” ensures a strong chain of custody system to verify organic ingredients from raw material to end product.

EU Organic

“EU Organic” products have zero or minimal chemical pesticides or fertilisers, support animal welfare and non-genetically modified standards.

Fairtrade

“Fairtrade International” products are produced in line with ethical and environmental standards, including supporting farmers to tackle climate change challenges.

Higg Index Materials

The “Higg Index Materials” seal recognises products made with lower environmental impact materials, with supporting data provided to customers.

Fair for Life

“Fair for Life” certifies for fair trade and more socially and environmentally responsible supply chains.

Blauer Engel 

“Blauer Engel” guarantees that a product meets high environmental standards, including protecting consumers health.

Recycled Claim Standard 100

“The Recycled Claim Standard” 100 products use materials made from at least 95% recycled content.

Carbon Trust

“Carbon Trust – CO2 Reducing” certified products reduce their carbon footprint year after year.

“Carbon Trust – Caron Neutral” certified products reduce their carbon footprint year after year and any outstanding emissions are offset.

Forest Stewardship Council
The “Forest Stewardship Council” certified products support responsible forestry, helping keep forests healthy for future generations.

Rainforest Alliance

“Rainforest Alliance” seal stands for more sustainable farming methods that help to improve farmer livelihoods and mitigate climate change.

Fairtrade Cotton

“Fairtrade International” certifies cotton producers. Fair trading conditions enable small farmers and workers in the producing countries, mostly developing countries, to invest in sustainable development to enable environmentally friendly cultivation of cotton. 

Responsible Down Standard

“Responsible Down Standard” certifies products made of down. This ensures universal respect for animal welfare and prohibits the removal of down feathers from live birds, as well as their force-feeding.

Fair Wear

“Fair Wear” does not certify products or brands, but is an independent, not-for-profit organization that works with brands, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with social standards in garment factories.

Fair Rubber

Fair Rubber” products contain natural rubber that is certified as fairly traded according to social and environmental criteria.

Carbon Neutral

Carbon Neutral” certified by “SCS Global Services” means that the product’s carbon emissions have been measured and reduced, with any remaining emissions offset.

EU Ecolabel

“EU Ecolabel” certified products have a reduced environmental impact across multiple stages of the product lifecycle.

Cradle to Cradle

“Cradle to Cradle” certified products are made with safer materials and responsible processes to positively impact people and our planet.

EPEAT

EPEAT” products are assessed against criteria including energy use and have a reduced sustainability impact across their lifecycle.

ClimatePartner

“ClimatePartner” verifies the product’s carbon footprint was calculated, is continuously reduced and remaining emissions were offset.

Global Recycled Standard

“Global Recycled Standard” products are made with at least 50% recycled content and meet social, environmental and chemical requirements.

Carbonfund

Carbonfund” determines the carbon footprint of the product, and associated carbon emissions are offset with reduction projects.

Associazione Italiana Agricoltura Biologica

“Associazione Italiana Agricoltura Biologica” certifies organic products made by Italian companies, without the use of chemical pesticides.

Compact by Design

“Compact by Design” products remove excess air and water, which reduces the carbon footprint of shipping and packaging.

EWG

EWG” verified products are reviewed to ensure that they are free from EWG’s known chemicals of concern and adhere to strict health standards.

Nordic Swan Ecolabel

“Nordic Swan Ecolabel” certified products meet requirements on chemical usage, resource consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity.

Natrue

“Natrue” certified cosmetics are made from naturally sourced ingredients.

Better Cotton Initiative

“Better Cotton” Initiative supports sustainable cotton farming.

Made Safe

“Made Safe” certifies products made without known toxic chemicals, by prohibiting substances that harm human health or the environment.

Regenerative Organic

“Regenerative Organic” certified products meet standards for soil health and land management, animal welfare and social fairness.

Energy Label

“Energy Label” assesses energy efficiency and this product has been rated as being in the top tier (class A or B according to an A-G scale).

Soil Association

“Soil Association” zertifiziert organische Produkte und unterstützt die Beziehung zwischen Boden, Pflanzen, Tieren und Menschen.

  • Proof of the location of your business premises (max. file size: 2 MB)

Information needed for product-specific questionaire:

  • Product name
  • Product description
  • Product category
  • Image of the product (maximum file size: 2 MB)
  • Information on where you sell your product and the corresponding SKU number. (Example: you sell your product on your own website and on ETSY, then you need to enter the SKU number used on your website and the SKU number / product number used by ETSY)
  • If you sell variable products: also all SKUs of the corresponding product configurations
  • Place of production (e.g. USA)

Information needed for sustainability audit:

  • You must tell us for which of our 6 ECOCHECK certificates you are applying for
  • You must state why your product meets our set criteria for the certificate you are applying for
    • This may be the case when you or your producer work with one or more of our approved certifiers
    • or that you meet one or more of our sustainability criteria
  • You will need to upload a signed document from one of your company representatives or your manufacturer’s representatives confirming that you meet one of the above two statements (sample can be downloaded).
