To qualify for the Green Products Initiative, you must demonstrate the sustainability of the primary attributes of your products in one or more of our seven ECO CATEGORIES. Proof can be provided through certifications from approved certifiers, the use of recognized sustainable materials or through a verifiable declaration.

For verification, brands have to prove that they or their manufacturers are working togther with one or more of our partner sustainability certifiers.

We have developed APIs to most of our partner certifiers, allowing us to verify in real time if certificates issued to brands & manufacturers are authentic and up to date.

For brands that cannot afford certification or have products whose sustainability properties cannot yet be validated by existing certifiers, we use our own transparent certification process for verification.


To ensure our high standards, all certifiers have to meet strict requirements and have to prove compliance once a year.

For verification, we work closely together with sustainability certifiers worldwide.

To stay up to date, we regularly screen the market for new certifiers and regularly expand our partnerships.

For brands that cannot afford certification or have products whose sustainability properties cannot yet be validated by existing certifiers, we use our own transparent certification process for verification.

Since every product is different and its impact on the environment needs to be measured differently, we have defined sustainability criteria for more than 3,200 different product categories that cover almost the entire product range.

Brands must prove that their products meet our ECOCHECK criteria in order to receive one of our certificates.

  • You will need to upload a signed document from one of your company representatives or your manufacturer’s representatives confirming that you meet one of the above two statements (sample can be downloaded).
